Slutty Brownies that are vegan need I say more! All the good things in one: chocolate chip cookies, Oreos, and brownies!
Note: This is not my recipe. Find it <<Here>>.
What Makes This Slutty?
I decided to try these because they looked tasty. But also, the description was funny. All the slutty characteristics but in a dessert. Easy, messy, a lot goes into them, everybody likes them.
My First Failure
I made these Slutty-Brownies last week and they were a flop. They did not taste good. They would not cook right. Wrong size pan. Cooled too long in the pan. They got stuck.
We hucked them in to the trash after not eating more than the first piece.
For some reason I decided that it needed a second try.
My sister’s bridal shower was over this past weekend and I had offered to make these Slutty-Brownies already. So I looked for a way to change up the brownie recipe.
I ended up cutting the melted chocolate almost in half for the brownie part of the recipe.
This time around I used the right size pan and my mother’s oven. If I could do anything major to my current kitchen my number one thing would be getting a gas oven. The past five or six years, everywhere I move to ends up having an electric stove/ oven. They are the worst.
The brownie section was less heavy this time around so the whole thing cooked better. The bottom layer was able to actually cook evenly with the sides with the less dense top brownie layer.
It was a major success this time around and I received rave reviews from everybody who tried them. It was very gratifying to be able to re-do this recipe and have it turn out not only edible but to have everybody love them was a plus.
Tips for Success
Use the right size and shape pan. A circular cake pan did not work for me. I would even recommend a perfect square pan and not a rounded corner square one because it was harder to get the whole thing out cleanly.
Make sure the inside is cooked through. Use a tooth pick because it is almost impossible to know otherwise.
Let the whole thing cool in the pan first. Do not put it in the fridge to cool or at least do not out it in there too long. For my first attempt the brownie layer separated from the cookie layer because I fell asleep and did not take it out of the pan in a timely manner.
